By managing the watering needs of sites ranging from residential landscapes to golf course to parks to commercial properties, you make decisions every day that directly impact the world’s water supply. This is your opportunity to get creative, while putting your knowledge, experience and unique point of view to work for an important cause. The winner will be recognized at the screening event and receive a cash prize of $6,000.

Mark Peterson, Irrigation Contractor, Boulder, CO

Ron HallA lot has changed since 1984 when I began reporting on the Green Industry, including the industry itself, which has exploded in popularity, scope of services and size. In those 25 years, the U.S. population has grown, too, from 236 million to 306 million today—70 million more people. What hasn’t changed is the amount of available fresh water for our food and energy production, sanitation, industry and landscape irrigation. The era of cheap and plentiful water is over. We’re going to have to get smarter with water. That’s why Questex is partnering with Rain Bird to bring you the Intelligent Use of Water Film Competition’s first-ever Green Industry Award. This competition offers you a platform to spark conversation and share creative strategies for more efficient water use. Take the lead—enter your short film in the IUOW Film Competition. Be a professional that makes a difference.
